The meeting was chaired by Ma Xiaoqin, a member of the party group and deputy director of the Municipal Bureau of Commerce. Nearly 30 people attended the meeting, including the general representatives of 7 overseas commercial representative offices in Xi'an (in Hong Kong, Singapore, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Belarus, South Africa, Canada), the municipal foreign affairs office, the municipal investment cooperation promotion bureau, the municipal trade promotion association, and the heads of relevant business departments of the municipal overseas Chinese federation, as well as the heads of relevant departments of the bureau.
At the meeting, a brief briefing was given on the overall development of our city's foreign trade and economic cooperation in 2024. Subsequently, the seven overseas business representative offices reported on the work carried out in 2024 and the work plan in 2025. The heads of relevant departments and offices at the municipal level evaluated and scored the overseas business representative offices and made on-site comments on the work of the representative offices.
Everyone agreed that the representative offices have done a lot of fruitful work in the past year, giving full play to the role of "bridges and links", providing strong support for the city's various export-oriented work. It is hoped that the representative offices will continue to give full play to the advantages of the platform and provide timely economic and trade information, policy changes and market needs of the host countries; the second is to make friends, expand the city's international Moments, and enhance the city's influence.
Ma Xiaoqin, Deputy Director of the Ministry of Commerce, first affirmed the achievements of the representative offices, expressed his gratitude for the extensive work done by the representative offices, arranged the deployment of the key work of the overseas commercial representative offices in 2025, and put forward specific requirements for the next work of the representative offices.
The meeting pointed out that this meeting is very necessary, and it is an opportunity and platform for the representative offices to post transcripts and explore new ideas for work. The representative offices should further improve their positions, strengthen their responsibilities, and take responsibility. They should closely focus on the city's key business tasks, and adjust and optimize the functions and responsibilities of the representative offices to serve the city's foreign economic and trade development.
The meeting emphasized that when General Secretary Xi Jinping visited Shaanxi, he pointed out that the lack of opening up is a prominent shortcoming restricting the development of Shaanxi. He hoped that the delegates could continue to play a good role as a platform in their future work, strengthen horizontal ties with municipal departments, better publicize and promote Xi'an, and play the role of a bridge and link between Xi'an and the host country's economic and trade ties. They will strive to write a new chapter in the city's business work in the new era to catch up and surpass.
